Shibori Stitch Cushion Covers

Half-day workshop to introduce you to the art of Shibori.

Learn the techniques to create beautiful and unique patterns in your fabric.

Join a small group with two expert tutors.

Create patterns in squares of fabric that can be taken home, dyed and made up into cushion covers or added to any of your projects.

This workshop will introduce you to the art of Japanese Shibori.  Shibori describes ways of manipulating fabric to create folds which will be resistant to the colour when dyed.  There are many ways to manipulate fabric - folding, wrapping, tying, clamping, scrunching and stitching.

In this half day workshop we will teach various stitch techniques to create patterns in the fabric.  For those who would rather not stitch there will be lots of alternative ways of creating resist - clamping, tying and folding.

We will not be dyeing the fabric in this workshop but will explain how you can do this at home - or join us for a full day Shibori and Indigo Dye Workshop!
